Night Light

It's past midnight and the color black never changes

When there is no light

black is black

As is the void in my life

you left

when you died

I cried

Every day is a day past midnight

Loved the epigrammatic quality of the poem.

Nicely done, Kathy. Everything that needs to be said is said artfully and economically.

I cannot pass this up without comment. It is another example of your gift as an artist. The structure, the words, the message all come together in truth.

Great free verse poem with very good metaphors. It has very powerful meaning behind this art form. Flows well and I like the word choice. Overall, excellent job!

Those we love - we still love
They leave a candle - that
Cast a light - like a star that gives
A light - long after
