A free verse poem of different views.

Prejudice

Hate is looking with blurry vision,
Despising variety with misconception.

Painting a portrait of ignorance,
Seeing opposites as a villain.

Different ideas are seen as mysterious,
Detesting all unknown viewpoints.

Dissimilar looks is viewed as a threat,
Causing war when peace can exist.

Differences can form a truce,
If fear can be replaced by curiosity.

Bravo! Very well done.

To me prejudice is also fear that the person who looks different might be smarter or more capable than the one who is looking at him. Some people always need someone they can put down, and anyone different is a target. Which is in part what you say when you mention ignorance.
