The Abandoned Astronaut - Epilogue
At the space station, a rather mysterious phenomenon had taken the entire crew by surprise except the subject, of course.The subject had shown the signs of an eradicated disease, the common cold. Being from the elite class of astronauts it would not be fit to make this a public matter hence, they decided to use it to learn more about the disease and its effect on them. The purpose of this journey was to see the effects of cosmic rays on a body afflicted with common cold virus.
However, the subject was kept in the dark with respect to one of the cruelest experiments being conducted on him since the time of Adolf Hitler, a millenia ago - not that there was any record left after the war.
The crew noticed a bewildering observation where the subject glowed for 3 seconds with the glow plummeting constantly till the point that there was nothing but a frozen black body left, in the next 7 seconds.
As the reports reached the base, an insignificant poof brightened the most infinitesimal section of the sky for a Planck time.
