Spent today driving through the county on rural roads to the beach. The roadside stands were out in profusion from unattended tables to all out medieval fair like compounds.

A Country Autumn Drive

The autumn sun is softly warm
The highway moves in thoughtless charm
The orchards and fields overflow
With a passion's pallet row on row

The cornucopia spilling forth
In roadside stands of every sort
Tabled jams and ears of corn
Honour jars where trust is sworn

Fancy affairs of bedecked kiosks
Resplendent in gaudy Halloween masks
Outrageous shaped and patterned gourds
Fit for harlequined troubadours
