Though there those who chip away freedomsBit by bit
To enslave the us
Chains bind us - though they appear invisible
On the out side - that is!
Minds conditioned - to except - the way it is!
Yet those with still minds of their own - think
Express their thoughts - through words - poetry
Using verse - in a clever - smart ways with words
The song writer is of the same mind
Insolent - but never - dumb!
What is wrote - some readers - work out what is being
Said!
Those who rule cant prove out - nor those who are the enforcers!
The slaves of the Confederacy - used songs and dance
To make fun - send up their enslavers - while those '' masters '' - '' mistresses ''
Treated there salves as mere '' children ''! How little they know!
The power - the freedom of words - poetry - and - song! ARE GREAT!
