Dreams for Waking and Thoughts for Taking

Well I was sleeping in my bed
And the world was turning by
Think it was being spun ‘round
By some rather ugly errant child
He refused to do his homework
So he was playing with the earth
His mother screamed loud to him
For all that her lungs were worth

Such are dreams for the waking
So many thoughts for the taking

I was sitting on our front steps
Listening to the wrestling on tv
The neighbors had it up so loud
It was as if I I had a ringside seat
Haystacks Calhoun ate ‘til death
Andre the Giant’s gone to sleep
Hope they both got nice caskets
Not lined with canvas or so cheap

Such are dreams for the waking
So many thoughts for the taking

Now I'm lying out under the stars
And the moon is acting kind of coy
Like a teenager with scarified face
Or maybe a spoilt harbor-side boy
I think it may begin raining soon
I can hear the birds argue and call
I think I will stay out here anyway
Taste the silken drops as they fall

Such are dreams for the waking
So many thoughts for the taking

Mind wandering day dreaming. Having read this, I now find myself doing as you have done, Dave. Just free associating with the sounds and visions of the world within my view and hearing. Thanks for giving me the impetus to do that!
