Evolution

Light shall fall upon us all
Blinding blackness
Of our corpse. In course
Of time we shall be free,
Be liberated of this evil spree.
Years it took, to fine this bane,
Millions, maybe more,
And now look how it kills us.
Hollowing us from inside,
Scraping our sanity till
None is left. There could
Not be a faster way
To end life on this plane.

Light shall fall upon us all
Blinding blackness
of our corpse. In course
Of time we shall be free,
Be liberated of this evil spree.
Years it will take, to mend
Our brains.
Millions, maybe more,
If it isn't too late.

Interesting subtle structure here. It's very engaging. The theme moves from dark to light in unexpected ways. Nicely done.

I like how the rhymes fall in unexpected places! --- "free" and "spree" in proximity, but a little distance between "bane" and "plane"!
