A Sage's Sorrow

Gather around men,
I'm the sage of ears,
Give me your sorrow,
Give me your pain,
I will take it all,
I will keep it safe.

Thus they begin,
Never ending,
Tales of lives,
Tales, oh so many,
Nights will pass yet,
No one can stop

Said I, deep from
Somewhere in my heart,
Shouted I, with all
Strength in my chest,
"Shut up, shut up,
Shut up, shut up!"

Weakly from my tongue,
Words of an empty soul,
Words of a fake soul,
Woefully strung escape,
"Will you hear me?"
Will you hear me?

Bibek The PoetBay support member heart!
I second Tom! Love the rhythm, the slow cadence of the poem.

This is very moving and strong in expression. I felt the frustrations, the sadness, the loneliness.

I love the cadence. The rhythm seems absolutely secure, unwavering.
