Untitled

In fleshly occupation

Avarice avails itself

Plundering upon

The poor man's wealth

It's always a broken axle

Impeding a future progression

Chained to its past

That's never going to last

While shrouding memories

In clouds of stealth

But fears are softened

In our sorrows

For those who rejoice

In Shekinah's Glory and Son

Redeeming our lives

And defeating

Death's mission

Marie Cadavieco The PoetBay support member heart!
I like to trawl through to find work I have somehow missed. I am so glad I did! The topic of greed which destroys not only the earth but other human beings less fortunate, spoke to me immediately, but then the transition from disgust and despair was sudden, enlightening, and encouraging. Strangely this is the second poem I have read today which speaks of Divine Light.

I sometimes struggle to title some of my texts; but in this text, 'untitled' is the avarice, plundering, fear, sorrow, in this world. And 'untitled' is the hopeful experience of Godly joy. A nice one.
