Remembering

An old friend
Is like a favourite coat -
Comfortable, familiar,
But most of all,
An old friend
Warms, not the body,
But the heart.

So welcome,
Old friend from the past,
Let's sit, and talk,
And remember,
And warm
Each other's hearts,
Remembering.

Short and sweet (seems to be a kind of poetic leitmotif in this forum of recent)! The warm and hospitable nature (of this poem) is pleasing. Even Mnemosyne would feel at home here (in this poem). Great job (and thanks), Marie!

Nice. There is nothing better than an old friend to share memories with. (and a drink)

I like both the meaning of the poem and its cadence, its careful, gentle, thoughtful pace.
