Whether it be once in a lifetime
or everyday

Every now and then we
encounter it.
Whether it be once in a lifetime
or everyday
It can come in places, time, people,
or even thoughts
we encounter those precious moments
of serene and peaceful
fulfillment that seems to come from some
higher authority
It can come in pieces of literature, songs on the radio
or even complete and utter silence
we seek these wonderous moments
only to find that they have passed or have not
yet arrived
In photographs of better times, a message left on an answering
machine when things seem to never
come out right but fall together like
vividly colored leaves
in the midst of autumn
these are times when
life sees to take control
and when you least
expect it
will open its doors to what
you had been looking for
all that time yet could
never find.
