Pain balances pleasure or does it?

Moses

Do we really need
Pain,
To savour the pleasure?

Can we not just
Live in peace,
Contented like Buddha,
Open like Jesus,
Wise like Solomon,
Understanding like Moses,
Who suffered all his life.
He was in constant
Pain,
Seeing the injustice of life,
And the fickleness of man.

Where was his pleasure?
Earned through pain?
He never reached
The promised land,
A punishment,
For being a hot-head,
A punishment,
For not having
Enough faith.

Commentally Ill
life's a punishment of sorts, i am almost convinced. indeed, pain balances pleasure, just a little too unequally it feels like at times :)

i'm sure i'll see heaven, at least? but get in....? existence is punishment.

sorry, my dark thoughts there...

let's chop off buddha's golden toe and with wisdom and understanding and an open need to get rid of the pain... go find ourselves a liquor store.

:))

i like this.
