Dreams

Floating in my thoughts, adrift in my mind,
Searching for the grail of life, few lay claim to find.
Drifting like a cloud the mind has set me free,
Butterflies swarm inside as gravity shackles me.

Screams within my head, a beating heart of dread,
Flailing, gasping, grasping air, terra firmer shouts.
Conscious intervention stems my swift decent,
Realisation of they self as was spirit meant.

Relief burns a furnace its embers warm within,
Flight the master conquered, unhinged of all my sin
Drifting through the realm, freedom holds me dear
Wondrous worlds surround me, reality so near.

Pounding in my chest as light begins to fade,
Darkness all around me awakes yet unafraid.
Memories fleeting, content he rests his head,
Begs the question, reality! Or just a dream in bed?
