Welcome to London

The engine's noise
blocks my troubled mind
-I've cried
but now I see the sky,
the roofs are going to take my fall.

I walk out of the plane
and it's cold
-the airport's voice
shuts my sensible ears,
the dreams are going to lull my lips.

I read the letter
stuffed in my pocket
-it's old
and now my shivers,
the fear is going to hide my choice.

The wind's plasticky smell
cuts my intermittent breath
-I can't tell
whether I'm alive or
my path is going to Death.

I look around the platform
for my destiny
-I'm there already
or so the panel says:
"Welcome to London".
Ready?

You paint a bleak picture here but the images are good, excellent writing Emily.

Yeah, A nice documentation of your arrival in London, reminds me of the day I first set my foot on the English soil, it felt like home, so much had I heard of it and so many familiar sights were there, including Tandoori chicken... Coming from Moscow, where I was studying medicine for last two years, it was indeed like a home coming!
((((Hugs for stirring up old memories))))
Welcome to the bay from my side, dear Emily!
Love, Zoya
