No woman is an island.

Today's Sadness

Lost on an island
In the middle of the ocean
How many years have I been here?
With the coconuts and the palm trees
The freshwater stream and the fish
Oh, I can survive.
Oh, I will survive.
That's not the question.
It's so boring here
With the sun beating down
My perpetual sunburn
Did I get too close?
Did I demand too much?
All I wanted was a little attention
Not even love
Just....

So I am alone
It's the same as being with people
Exactly the same
The waves wash ashore
I could go for a swim
Do you think I will ever be rescued?
Are your harsh words indication enough?
The sun beats down
I look for shade
And find none.
