Stepping out

Walking through

an empty house

~once called home~

Looking into every room

where every corner

has its own story to tell

Taking a moment

letting it all sink in

No need for backward thinking

That's all in the past

And besides...

This really isn't a moment that

will last

Entering the hallway

putting on my shoes

Feeling the chain-release

from my heart

Stepping away from the blues

Knowing...

As I'm stepping out of this door

Life will never be like it

was before

It will be so much better
