I very much like the poems of the metaphysical poet, John Donne, though to me he is more physical than meta! This is a flea-sized tribute to him.

The flea revisited

It jumps from you to me,
It jumps from me to you,
We have between us a flea,
A blood brother it is true.

It sucks where we cannot,
It itches in places rare,
I'd love that flea to garrotte,
If only if I would dare.

For part of it is you and me,
We live in primeval DNA,
With the flea we are three,
And happy we shall stay!
