A night full of thoughts.

Before you lied to me

Looking out the window at the city-lights
It's growing dark outside but they shine so bright
then turning round to you, try to catch your eyes
You look straight back at me, and the time just flies.

But the circle is small , I've heard it all
about you and your friend
and I know it's all over.

You said it was just a flirt or maybe a fling
You never touched his lips, it didn't mean anything
He was quite charming, you spent an afternoon
But you thought of what you're missing and left him very soon.

If I can believe you and you really want to stay
You have to say the words you used before
Before you lied to me.

So I told you that I have to go, for a long, long ride
Thinking it all over, while I still have got some pride
The shadow of our silhouettes are dancing on the wall
I'm not standing tall at all.

But if you can get over him and really want to stay
you have to say the words you used before
Before you lied to me.

I said that I have to leave you soon
with no other witness than the silver moon
I will try to forgive you, and I will try to forget
I can't make a promise until our matter's set.

But if you really want me to stay
you have to say the words you used before
Before you lied to me.

The candle-light is slowly burning down
I can hardly see your face across the room
You're standing still with sadness in your eyes
and I know you are sorry for your lies.

I'm not bitter and I wish you well
there's nothing more for me to say, it feels like hell
It's up to you to tell what you are thinking of
if you still see a future for our love

But if you really want me to stay
you have to say the words you used before
Before you lied to me,
And if you're sure that you really want to stay
You have to say the words you used before
Before you lied to me....
