A plan backfires...

Fall of the Amazon

The Amazon lets fly
And stops, struck
By her own arrow
Deflected by a shield
Of words calculated
To lead her to Victory.

Beware: When you aim one finger at someone else, three fingers are pointing right back at you... Are not we all this Amazon? Bravo!

It compels me to ponder what would constitute Victory. Yours is a unique perspective and sensibility and uncommon craft.

A Demanding Woman, an Amazon. Do I detect a pattern emerging?

No, what your words bring to mind is that you put yourself out there, make yourself vulnerable, offer yourself in good faith, trusting others will act in kind.

Sometimes it works.

Apparently, the over-riding truth is: skiing is bliss.

Forgive my free associative comments. I love your poems.
