Nothing More Is Needed

You need nothing else
just an open heart
and spiritual eyes
to look upon the grand design
of what life offers to you
now.

You need no backpack
or "kitchen sink"
to carry with you upon this journey,
only, perhaps,
those things that you might carry
that bring you comfort, that bring you joy

—a teacup to quench your thirst,
a notebook and pencil to convey what's in your heart,
and a song or two
to walk with you
as the company you keep.

Nothing more is needed
so have peace and enjoy the view.

I have made this journey, or more truthfully am still on it, having begun it with little more than these few things. It can be done, though it is often hard, knowing there is no way back.
