Wireless and Digital

In this world-wireless and digital

Overly twitted and tweeted

Social contact is far too minimal

Dehumanized and deleted

Rarely are there personal meetings

Where facial expressions are read

Replaced with twitters and tweetings

Words all in text and unsaid

How can we emotionally empathize

With keyboarded words so dry

Emotions digitally desentisized

On our computer digital high

Hello my friend. It's a great poem Stan. It is really true that a lot of people nowadays are imprisoned by these digital machines. It's very rare that we see people look at each others faces for a long time. Most of them are busy doing other things and are most dependent on using these high tech gadgets for emotional communication.

Wireless and soulless is the digital malaise. Fortunately we have the playful wit of you two guys to keep us smiling.

I agree with Ken and Jim, there are advantages and disadvantages, but your great poetry is definitely the former.

I agree with Ken, this is a double-edged sword. We communicate with people we will never meet, to our great advantage, as on poetbay, but lose the connections you're writing about. What I miss are letters. The handwritten kind. With stamps. Remember those? I bet young folks don't know what S.W.A.K. stands for.

Digital and wireless , can be like a curate' egg, good in parts , but it can put us in-touch with others we would never of met and got to know. Also it must be said , they can be a double edge sword. Can cut both ways.

I'd ask my coworkers when we're on break, but they're all staring at their damned phones. Technically, I'd say that this is one of your best, Stan.

This is true. Eye contact is becoming a rarity these days. :/
