Sink or swim

You've got concrete in you're bones
Sinking quickly down below
In the depths of the ocean
For reasons you don't know

And the motions will not save you
Nor will swimming toward the light
For the monsters already claim you
You'll drift further into night

All you're fighting is now behind you
Your struggles earn no air
And you can blame the water
For the death you'll say is unfair

The second line of the first stanza sounds a bit raw but the rest of the poem is very good.
