Song Thrush

My fingers hover over strings
Poised to strum and thrum warm wood
When through the air to mine ears reach
A lilting, lyrical, sweet song sung

My eyes turn to face the golden glow
of evening sun that's breached
Out from lazy cloud and sky
To shine upon this music preached

And so I sight on leafy branch
A song thrush singing passion'd rhyme
That stills me as the tune is chirped
With such an earnest, soulful chime

Seamlessly rhymed and never misses a beat with the rhythm that flows along like the song of the thrush. It's very hard to write rhymed and highly structured poetry without it sounding stilted and forced. You're good at it.

ah, a musical affinity helps explain your lyricism.

your poems often border on sonnets. a couple more rhymed lines and a couplet (like a brandy after a fine meal) to settle the contents : )
