Bring my Night to Sleep

Where does the TIME go,
Especially late at night,
When the fright of a stupid fight
Shivers my life like
Mud that quivers in the rain?

Can I be a little more like 'me,'
Or should I keep my soul
All to myself, and never ever
Let you totally into my realm?

I do pray for some guidance
To keep this mindless night
Deep within all the flesh
That is so indebted to light
Bringing my night to sleep.

A feeling we know all too well. The night is long and full of terrors, but your exquisite rhyming and this wonderful poem might keep them at bay.

The ingenious rhyming (like ''the fright of a stupid fight'') is delightful. Thinking about time usually gives me a headache and I wouldn't recommend it for insomnia. :)

Maybe at night , JK , when sleep - is reluctant to come - as we toss and turn - time stands still - we expreance the the hour that has no number - is not on the clock face.
