living at winter

alone with snow

in the bleak light

in the balked warmth

 

speaking fewer

in the hushed tumble

estranged from haste

 

living at winter

with chill for friend

Being estranged from haste may be a worthwhile pace if we have been amply prepped for it. The suddenness could be jarring as well without that transitional process of deceleration. I remember my Pop decelerate so gracefully we couldn't tell when it happened.
