Love Could Use A Break

Love is blind, walks with a cane and drunken staggers
After hours out of a bar with grimy counters and broken hearts stacked up in overflowing bus pans, the refuse from all the shady, surfeit/starving customers who forgot to pay
their bill, who cut and ran a losing tab, tacked onto
'maybe tomorrow, '
Love has grown calloused and deaf from centuries of poems and prose
Written by groups of die hard conspirators trying to figure out Love's angle
Is off kilter and tends to cant askew, wearing a dress of rusted chains and fly blown flowers
Love lies down in the millennial gutter to sleep this one off.

Lovely, no, I wont use that word, how about acute? Yes, this is a cutting display of live, it has become a degenerate, a hobbling demented crony. Who would want live like that! Best it goes to sleep to regenerate!
