Careful

Be careful what you ask for
Look out for what you say
Can you count on what you keep
Or what is thrown away,
It was late one night after the evening
Sprinkled diamond dust in nets of blazing light
Someone bent at waist to taste your naked shoulders
White and paling
Somewhere sailing
Somewhere unknown,
Like ships bearing beautiful treasures
Keeping time sublime symphonic measures
Slept in waves beneath our breaths were pressed
You lost yourself in the way the forest dressed
Night is all we asked and more,
Be careful what you ask for. . .
