Fragment

ask the rosebush

why it speaks

such convoluted prose

ask the sparrow
why it just doesn't

speak plainly

ask the river
to define

its curious babble

ask the wind
to provide footnotes
for its meander

through pine trees

ask the clouds
if their shapes

mean anything

ask the pebbles
along the road

to translate

at times, nature seems to speak in "such convoluted prose" that leaves us scratching our heads. perhaps it's the poet's job to untangle the complicated thread of meaning, or perhaps not. in love with your "fragmentary" poems.
