Observed Last Night

Drops of rain gather

in the parking-lot puddle,

shining black beneath the lights.

Each dimple of water,

recklessly delicate:
a question, or a wish.

The lines that came to me reading this :)

Drops of rain gather
in the parking-lot puddle,
shining black beneath the lights.

Each dimple of water,
recklessly delicate:
a question, or a wish.

*

Comes a little child
pittering-pattering,
her happy eager feet

Delighting in the splashes
Giggles filling the air
while escaping Mom's capture

Oh, what perfect little musings! So richly described, I saw it in my mind. I like that so very much about your writing, merci.

Lupidu
... "recklessly delicate"...

Now that's a contradiction nicely chosen.
