Owlswich

Watching owls fly from branch to ground

Night circling around their lantern eyes

Without making a sound mute to realize

Light rising is found to reach the skies

Dream haunted castles so sun bound

Burning days of summer window eyes

This has a moody, almost medieval vibe that I really like. The image of owls with lantern eyes and soundless flight sets a quiet, eerie tone. But the syntax gets tangled in places, especially "Without making a sound mute to realize," which sounds pretty but stops making sense the more you sit with it. The poem leans heavy on atmosphere and lets clarity slide. A little tightening could keep the mystery without losing the reader.
