We experimented writing a poem where the last line of the preceding verse becomes the first line of the following verse. We are setting it as a poetbay challenge. Please give it a try. : )

Embraced ~cowritten by Lastromantichero and Kathy Lockhart ~A Challenge

When winter winds blow their chill
And snow piles up at my door
It's in your loving arms I want to be
Embraced in your warmth once more

Embraced in your warmth once more
I touch the glory of silken skin
And kiss the lips that I adore
Await the love that we will win

Await the love that we will win
As Springtime rain brings life anew
My heart will blossom once again
The fragrance of my love for you

The fragrance of my love for you
With sweet gardenias sacred
The helpless needs of all we do
In passionate yearnings naked

In passionate yearnings naked
I give to you my vulnerable heart
Knowing it is protected
And my love to you I impart

And my love to you I impart
As yours is the treasure I hold
No mortal e'er can win this heart
No beauty with enthralment told

No beauty with enthralment told
In tenderness, this love of ours,
Enhance our lives as they unfold
Like the bud of any rose that flowers

Like the bud of any rose that flowers
The love of mine in glory be
Intrinsic to this life of ours
United in joy we were meant to be

The repeating of the lines is of great effect in this very beautiful duet, that ought to be put in music!

Elle The PoetBay support member heart!
A beautiful poem and resonant of the villanelle form - I shall try and have a go later - after I kick my muse into gear
