Don't Expect Much
The child on the street with a bowl in herLap will smile if you hand her something
To eat. The dog in its kennel will wag its
Tail. They're grateful, in some sense,
For what you've provided. Let that
Thought please you. It's all you will get,
As they never have learned how to give.
