Outside of Jerusalem
What led them to go visit him, a manWho died of crucifixion, sealed into
A stony tomb? Why did they think
That he would rise? He did, of course,
And saved them all, which proves that
Faith can be rewarded. What made me
Return to her? She'd long since ceased
To speak to me. Why did I tell myself
That she once loved me, and she would
Again? She wouldn't. I was turned away,
Which proves that faith sometimes is foolish.
Even so, I have been saved. I witnessed my
Love crucified, its corpse sent to a stony
Tomb. I sealed it myself, with my hands,
And walked, unburdened, back to town,
Excited. I am free.
