Left and Right

I stand at the entrance to her kitchen.
She's somewhere around a corner.
Nothing's wrong, but something isn't
Right. I know it's me. I feel that I'm
Betraying someone else who's said
Goodbye to me, a woman I still love,
Who may have loved me so she had
To leave, but, even if that's true, she's
Made it clear that she's not coming
Back. It's pointless to keep loving
Her, and here a woman bustles
After having sweetly said she'd
Have a drink with me, and smiling
When she stood aside and let me
In. There's more right now than
Wrong, I think. She comes around
The corner, smiling still, and looking
Beautiful. “Are you ready now?,”
She laughs. I tell her that I am.
