Alexander the Great
This kid's in his early twenties,And he's pretty sure he's taken
Over world, having developed
Some damned thing, an
Application, binary code.
He marches through various
Conference rooms, speaking
To people who could be his
Parents, asking for money,
And they give him millions.
A year ago, he shared a three-
Room apartment, rode everywhere
On his bicycle, living on ramen
And macaroni and cheese.
Now, he goes home to an
Eight bedroom house with
A pool and a tennis court
(He doesn't play), a movie
Theater, fitness toys, a huge,
Fancy kitchen (though he
Doesn't cook), and a very
Expensive electric car.
He's busy, of course, being
Just out of school and having
To rule the world he's taken,
But sometimes, when he's
On his way to a conference,
He stares at the landscape,
Office parks, mostly,
And wonders, since he's
In early twenties, if there's
Anything left to do.
