Beast

Freak-show creature? Made-up beast,
A Ripley fraud displayed in dim light,
Fooling one, but not the other? Twin
From Siam with two hearts and heads
Conjoined, one old, one young, with
Both heads strangely always mute.
The cage's label calls it love, and it is
Real, proclaims the one. The other's
Judgment isn't known, but, if it lives,
Half of it's her, and, if it's made up,
She should tell the one, and let him go.
