The Magician And His Assistant

She was only seventeen when she first laid eyes on him
He wore a tuxedo and a top hat
And he held a rabbit named Rabbit

It was love at first sight for her
He was 36 and saw the love in her eyes
Recognized it from seeing it so many times

He was handsome and talented
A Master of misdirection
And slights of hand

With a trick or two up his sleeves
And a surprising twist
In his top hat,

With absolutely Inevitable results
They became lovers in an uncanny relationship
Made up of wisdom and tenderness

A love story written anew each day
With magic creating enchantment
Of the alchemical kind

Transmutating basic elements
And irrevocable changes in reality
Because everything was just a trick.

This is a very sweet poem, but that last line worries me.

Love the ending.

That is so cool. You managed to combine tender love, magic and philosophy all into a great story. I suppose you would never be bored with a magician :) Love it.
