I write this to let us know what goes on in y country. The pretense of our leaders is very deceptive!

In This Clime

In my country,
hunger is an emblem
it is no longer a news item.

In my country,
povery is not debatable
it is a known fact.

In this our clime,
squalor is cast as
democracy dividend.

In this our clime'they pay lip service
to health, education, good roads.

In my country
boots and berets
wear garbs of democracy.

In my country
thieves are revered
and honoured
as they hijack our commonwealth.

Onyeka Nwelue
Emeka, ka m gwa gi ezi okwu, ihe a i dere ebe a na enwutem...

But still, it is beautifully written...

Let us not allow the problems we have be embedded unto our leaders. They are humans like us. And if we think they are not doing ok, lets try by ourselves.

Heaven helps those who help themselves. Let us leave them alone and treat ourselves like we should.

And moreover, I have never smelled much poverty in Nigeria. Which part of Nigeria are you from? Lol

Nicely written.
