I had to write a list poem for my writing class.. it kind of sucks, because it is the first time I've tried to write a poem in this style, but, well, here it is.

I Have Seen

I have seen young girls flaunt themselves
In a desperate attempt to finally be loved.
I have seen the thoroughly depressed
Slice veins, releasing putrid fumes...
A stench of final desperation
To finally be noticed.
I have seen those who live
As if there is no tomorrow,
With their fast cars and even faster music.
And I have seen the conformists
So desperately in need of being accepted;
Those with no ability to think for themselves.
I have seen the anarchists,
The punks,
Fighting for a change,
Persecuted for rebelling against society.
However, I am yet to see the day
Where we can shove these differences aside,
And forget about the lines which separate us..
The lines which we have created.
The lines which will one day destroy us all.
I have seen such diversity
But never before have I seen
The unity which could save us all.
