When you accidentally learn that your loved one has had a very traumatic past, you are filled with remorse, for saying things you should never have said, behaving the way you should not have done...but alas what is done, can not be undone...!

Do you remember?

Do you remember what you had said?
About my words being beautiful flowers
Coloured with my heart's blood, red,
You felt their fragrance from bower to bower!
Colourful tapestry, you said, I had woven
With anguished misery of my heart,
Compassion evoked those feelings unknown
in you, you'd said, from the very start.
That how I had slowly warmed up to your heart?
Do you remember those beautiful words?
That came off yours lips, like honeydew,
fell upon my ears, like the first-rain-shower,
upon the parched Earth of my lonely soul!
Do you remember? Well I do my heart!
The day I fell in love with you,
I can't pinpoint, but a feeling of elation
had come over me, I knew that day
It was you and I!
We laughed we rocked, we even fought,
But we were happy, you always forgot,
My temper with so much patience you endured
This made you, to me, even more endeared...
That you'd seen worst tempers before,
You never told me, why you endured?
I would get exasperated at times
How is it, I never got a rise out of you?
It was nothing compared to what you endured,
Now I know and it pains me to core:
Shouts, fights, and daily abuse,
A childhood, sullied, torn and refused,
Bleary-eyed, reeking, staggering,
Huge bulk falling in a heap, getting up
Creating an uproar, neighbors knocking
At the police' door, mid-night cellar,
Dark- dungeon, squalor,
Sleeping on the hard cold floor....
So much endured?
Innocence lost, lessons forgotten,
Bleak days, scary nights, darkness in life,
Black in the night, putting up a useless fight....
Yet, you've come out intact, with even love
to spare in your heart; Forgive me my love
I did not know, forgive me I really hurt you,
I promise to never say an unpleasant word
I promise to always save you from any hurt
Forgive me my love, forgive my heart!
In our love, till death do us part!

This is soooo sweet Zoya.....makes me start rethinking about my "confession" :)....to feel what you feel and to love the way you love is a gift seldom available to many people....keep it, hold on to it ,cherish it!!!!

Count your blessings and ask yourself, would you rather the moments you had or would you have chosen not knowing him at all? It is not what has happened to us that should define our lives, but how well we rise after we fall.

From my perspective, I would say to you that hitherto shall ye go, but no further. His fixed purpose is not the destruction, but the instruction of His people. Wisdom hangs up the thermometer at the furnace mouth, and regulates the heat. The limit is encouragingly comprehensive. The God of providence has limited the time, manner, intensity, repetition and the effects of all our sickness; each throb is decreed, each sleepless hour is predestinated, each relapse ordained, each depression of spirit foreknown, and each sanctifying result eternally purposed. Nothing great or small escapes the ordinary hand of Him who number the hairs of our head. Words well penned that could only have come from the heart!

A beautiful thought.So,passionate.Hopefully the tortured soul can let go so the sins don't keep passing on in bloodlines. :)

and still so many never tell their story to their loved ones.. a lot of poeple in this world has bad stories.. i think the reason why they never tell is because they love.. and are afraid to destroy the most beatiful in their lifes.. this text is a beautiful description of a situation where love is stronger!

((a little teardrop Z, beautiful))

Once again you astound me with this gift you have, I think Kathy has said it all for me, but you have such a great heart Zoya and I'm sure past actions will slowly fade, the love you so undoubtably hold for him will endure to give him the peace he so needs in his life.

hey Zoya dont agree the olive branch of love is all powerful even if it is not requited the fact that you love helplessly and withuot consequence is a beautiful thing one should never destroy or attempt to quell that beauty it is of itself

Zoya, what a dynamic piece you have written. It is so true! We make our choices and our decisions without knowing fully the extent of what our actions, words do to another. We just take for granted that life has been "normal" for most. Then to find out the horrors that have been endured and then to realize the additional pain we may have caused due to our own selfishness or ignorance, is humbling to say the least. How can "I'm sorry" take away what has already been done or said. But that is all we can say. It is what we do afterwards that makes the difference. Thank you Zoya, again, for enlightning us to the impact of who and what we are to others. It is our words and actions that impact those around us. All my continuing gratitude and love, Kathy
