Something beautiful yet unkind - 1

To fall in love is such sweet sorrow
and I could tremble before it,
but the world has turned so all my fellows
would rather burn their longings
in whatever hell they breathe or smoke
or sip or snort or other sorts
instead of the strongest pull, that's love,
they'll fall for anything else but,
what their heart has told.

And I'm, sadly, the same.

I like the feeling you are trying to evoke in here. I think the poem can be made terse, sparing the use of "and/but." Just my thought--not everyone loves minimalism, though.

Lawrence Beck The PoetBay support member heart!
Nicely written, Sameen. It reminds me of my college days: so many intoxicants, so little time.
