The team of the Theater and Music Production Center of Varna separated with his dear colleague and friend, the talented ballet artist Martin Chikalov, tragically killed in a road accident.
The funeral took place on September 12 in the Topoly cemetery in the presence of family, relatives, colleagues and friends.
In the evening, in memory of Martin, one minute's silence before the premiere of "Magic Lake" began the new season of Drama Theater "Stoyan Bachvarov".
The Varna State Opera will celebrate its memory on September 25, when the first show for the new season, the Zorro musical in which Martin was supposed to dance, will be played at the Summer Theater.

"Dobri Hristov" in Varna and Ballet Pedagogy and Directing at the Academy of Music, Music and Cinema Plovdiv, Martin Chikalov began his successful creative journey as a prime-stage composer at the Burgas Opera. His first major role there was at Basil at Don Quixote, and then starred in all the performances with classical and contemporary choreography by the main balletmaster Hikmet Mehmedov. At the Varna Opera, where he joined on December 18, 2000, Martin performed the roles of Hans in "Giselle", Prince in "The Nutcracker", danced in Don Quixote, Cinderella, Carmen Dance, Bad Awareness Girl in all the performances of the Varna State Opera.
In the ballet gala for the International Ballet Day this year, he stood out with his participation in "Spartak" by Khachaturian, a contemporary choreography in partnership with Silvia Hristova. Their interpretation deserved the approval of European criticism, in the material of Elena Haberman for the Austrian magazine for opera and ballet Der neue Merker.
An outstanding professional, an indispensable colleague and a wonderful friend, Martin is no longer among us.
But we will feel his presence in the bright memory of him.
