See You in the Funny Papers
I'm well aware that one can be jilted.A heart on a sleeve is like one on
The pavement, ripe to be spat on
And kicked away. This is what she's
Done. I'd never imagined, my mind
Not quite racing, but loping contentedly,
More or less certain of her love for me.
I was wrong. Now, that's obvious.
She left a note. I've been jilted.
There's no more to say.
