I Walk on Eggshells
I've made mistakes. I've made so many,Listing them would fill a book. I've smashed
Up cars. I've laid down bikes. I've tumbled
Off of precipices, gotten lost in sand and snow.
My social skills are not the best. They've led
Me to make messes of romances which had
Been so sweet when they began. That's why
I take such care with you, as your love
Shocks me. It exceeds all others I have known.
I can't say that I understand it. You give more
Than you receive. In fact, I'm not sure what
You want, so I pledge all I have to you,
And worry almost constantly that I will make
Mistakes.
