Human Nature

Compassion is something you'll see on TV,
Provided by some sap from somewhere
In Europe. It's not to be found among
Those who live here. Get back on your
Boat. Pack up your belongings. We don't
Want you near to live off of our taxes,
And overload schools, and bring drugs
And disease. You should have stayed
Where you've come from, and died,
And let camera crews generate something
Like sorrow, a costless compassion, from us
As we watch our TVs.
