Glimmer
May can bring such wretched days,And, when it does, I tell you you can
Have it. I'll go south and wait for June.
This country home, engulfed in wind
And rain, now seems a grim redoubt.
The gale strips blossoms from the trees.
I'll need my heavy jacket when I go
Outside to get the mail. The lights are on.
The sky is dark, but, if you came,
You'd find me smiling as I watch
The black clouds fly. My love's
Reappeared (in print), the first time
That she has in weeks, and her sweet
Words have made me happy,
Even now, in May.
