Naked in the neon dusk you lie,

waiting to burst like a melon

under the electric sun—

hair sticky with gin and tonic,

voice heavy with memory,

arms behind your head,

legs crossing/uncrossing,

waiting to perish in the air,

drift away to the coolness

of your past. I look at you—

I'm glowing like an ember.

Open your soul, dearest—

open your grace and passion,

with brown knolls of tenderness,

moons of magic, let me step

into your body, your life—

and I'll never die.

Wow! Vibrant and vivid, from the neon dusk to the brown knolls. An excellence.

Nicely done, Bibek. There are some striking images here.

A lean poem. I love it. Look how the poem itself looks like a naked body lying in wait of a lover i.e. the reader.

Nice! As always, you have a (wonderful) way with words, Bibek.
