Elegy for the Lost Love

I have waited all my life to find you in me,
to find you perched on my heart in repose,
singing a love song over and over again
into the darkness of my life, my soul.
Your shadowy hands at once wrap around my hands,
your shadowy lips brush against my lips.
The mirth, the honest love, the saccharine blossomó
they fill up the room. Ah, the resigned heart!
I have waited to find your ethereal voice,
floating across the bleak moors of my life,
find you return to the lonely hut by the field.
I have waited; the wait has put a strain
on my life. Iím now the loathsome dust, blown away
to feed the deadódown into the darkness.

A firm command of metre and of subject in this finely wrought blank sonnet. Bravo!

The rhythm of this poem is so sweet. I love it!

Kudos to a very well-cadenced and well-metered piece of poetry (blank sonnet?), THB! It's truly a demonstration of skillful, poetic technique.
