Very dark, but it rhymes.

How Can I Pardon

I haven't yet learned to forgive the past:
surly teachers, doctors without compassion,
the smart-ass kids who always picked me last,
the trendy kids who mocked my lack of fashion.

Surly teachers, doctors without compassion:
do they deserve mercy? No, not an ounce!
The trendy kids who mocked my lack of fashion:
I'd feed them to lions and laugh as they pounce.

Do they deserve mercy? No, not an ounce:
those human demons from decades gone by;
I'd laugh as hungry lions pounce
and maul their flesh, mean girls who made me cry.

Those human demons from decades gone by
can still disturb my less-than-perfect peace:
Tear them to shreds, mean girls who made me cry,
neighbours who blared shrill music, the police

who didn't care about my shattered peace,
the young street-tough who knocked me to the ground

without being questioned by the police,
mothers who thrashed their children, slept around.

I'd gladly see them six feet underground:
the smart-ass kids who always picked me last,
mothers who shrieked abuse (O hellish sound!) ...
how can I pardon the unpardonable past?

This is great technically and otherwise. Of course, there is no justice in this world of clay, but one can hope.
