It's so pleasant to contemplate all of the power
I have, living here in the US of A. When I buy
Things, the merchants ask me if I liked what
They sold, if I liked how they acted. They say
That they care, as do all of the people
And entities who have performed any service
For me. “Give us your thoughts. Take this
Two-minute survey,” though, afterward, they're
Never heard from again. The goiter-necked
Grandees who manage the firms of which
I am part owner send me weighty booklets
With forms I can use to endorse these same
Grandees, who run unopposed for their
Millionaires' jobs, and the greatest of all
Of my powers returns every couple of years,
When the paired names of people who
Others have chosen are put on a ballot,
And I can select which of them will abuse me
When they serve their terms. Oh, how splendid
Life is in the US of A, in the land where
Each person's a king.
